Business Concentration

(Major Code 0309)

To fulfill this concentration, students must take MATH 111 (instead of MATH 101) and take BUAD 220 as a related elective course.  A grade of “C” or better must be earned in MATH 111 and BUAD 220. After completing these prerequisite courses, students must successfully complete the following 24 semester hours:

ACCT 221 Principles of Accounting I 3 credits
ACCT 222 Principles of Accounting II 3 credits
BUAD 422 Management Concepts 3 credits
BUAD 430 Marketing Concepts 3 credits
BUAD 453 Business Finance 3 credits
BUAD 361 Legal Environment of Business 3 credits
ECON 200 Principles of Economics (Micro) 3 credits
ECON 305 Elementary Statistics 3 credits

Students also are strongly encouraged to take BUAD 341, Introduction to Management Information Systems, for the second related elective, and to take BUED 360, Business Communications, as one Technical & Professional Writing elective. Anyone interested in becoming a Liberal Studies: Business major should contact the Director of Liberal Studies, Dr. Humphrey A.
