The Health Education Division offers HIV/AIDS screening and educational workshops to student organizations, classrooms, and residence halls to educate and reduce the spread of the disease. Health Educators provide one-on-one counseling to students who feel they may bste at risk, or have questions concerning the disease. Students are encouraged to visit the Sebastian Health Center Resource area to pick up various pamphlets/brochures related to HIV/AIDS. Health educators can assist with literature selection and other resources available within the community. In addition to education, free HIV testing is made available on campus to help students “know their status.” All testing is confidential and is offered monthly, on Tuesday’s from 5:00pm – 7:00pm during the Fall/Spring semesters. Condoms are also provided free at the Health Center and other locations around campus. Sexually active students are encouraged to visit the health center to pick up condoms to reduce the risk of contracting the HIV virus and/or other STDs. Your confidentiality is always maintained with a non-judgmental attitude.
