MISSION:

To expose members to the diverse world of mechanical engineering as well
as promote character and community leadership for the development of the
professional mechanical engineer.




PURPOSE:


The purpose of the mechanical engineer is to bridge the gap from
scientific research to social needs in the fields of nuclear and conventional power
generation, aeronautic and astronautic technology, internal
combustion engines and jet propulsion systems, vibration and acoustics, heat and mass
transfer, air-conditioning and refrigeration, and instrumentation
and stress analysis. Equally important, the engineer has to be sensitive to the
social needs of our time.
