Goal 2
Deliver visionary and distinctive interdisciplinary learning,
discovery, and engagement that include collaborations
and partnerships as part of the learning experience.

Strategies
- Adding
interdisciplinary and international educational
opportunities.
- Establish and enhance international partnerships.
- Enhance student, faculty, and
staff participation in global interdisciplinary experiences.
- Provide intellectual,
physical, and technological infrastructure and financial
resources that will effectively support the
interdisciplinary program, and
- Enhance North Carolina A&T's
global image.

Activities
- By August 2003, establish
and/or enhance interdisciplinary academic centers and
programs that will attract and enroll at least 10% (or 1,000
students) of the student body by August 2005.
- By August 2005, each academic
center will establish and implement at least two
partnerships with industrial, governmental, educational, or
community entities.
- By August 2006, create
international study, internships, and service learning
programs for faculty and at least 10% (or 1,000 students) of
the student body.
- Establish curriculum review
and revision processes from general education through
doctoral programs that encourage the inclusion of
interdisciplinary and internationally focused curricula
across the University's Colleges and Schools.

Expected Outcome
The interdisciplinary programs
and centers will enhance the learning environment and image of
A&T and the preparation and marketability of its graduates
by providing increased participation in study abroad programs,
international internships, and opportunities for international
service learning.
