Minutes from the May 15 Teleconference
Discussion
-
Monte Carlo + Kalman filter development: Yaohang's group will first work on the
infrastructure, then include Monte Carlo and Kalman filter later. Yaohang is
interested in acquiring NOAA data to be used during development and testing.
KML or GML format would be fine. Mark Govett might be a good contact for this.
-
A number of students will be working with Albert during the summer. It might
be possible to include one or more of the students in our ISET project.
-
Albert's work on sensors has similarities to the work Matt is doing. There
was discussion of possibly having the two groups meet at some point.
-
Matt and a student will visit GSD for a few weeks early this summer, to
discuss the progress we've made so far, and to decide what steps to take next.
We'll follow up by having MarySue (and possibly Paul Hamer, another group member
who wasn't able to attend the conference call) visit Matt during the summer, and
Matt/student visiting GSD once more at the end of the summer or early fall. MarySue
should check out available housing in the Boulder area.
-
Yaohang will be gone for the summer, but will be available again in the fall
(September or later). GSD (especially Tracy) is interested in talking to Yaohang
about his project, since it dove-tails nicely with the Interactive Analysis
layer of the EIS concept. Yaohang could come to Boulder or Tracy could ravel
to North Carolina.
Action Items
-
Form a 5-year plan. Albert's group will send a first cut at this. Each group
should start thinking about what their goals are for this time period.
-
Albert's group would like to have NOAA participation in the Master's degree
committees for some of his students.
-
GSD should send information for the project web page.
