Proposal Development

Developing a complete proposal can be a daunting task, especially for beginners. The Office of Research Services offers resources and technical assistance in writing proposals and developing budgets.

Proposal Writing Resources

Although many aspects of writing a proposal are similar, there are some differences among the disciplines. Accordingly, writing resources are divided into three major categories: general guidelines, and specialized guidelines for science and engineering, and for the social sciences.

These are sub-divided into brief and detailed articles.

Budget Development Resources

There are six basic steps to developing effective budgets. Following these steps ensures that your budget is adequate to meet your projects' needs and that it complies with requirements specified by the sponsor and by the University. Budget guidelines are available to assist you.

Our budget management staff will check your budget for accuracy and compliance before you submit the proposal.
