Research Interests
I am interested in multicultural/gender issues in counseling, particularly as it relates to holistic wellness, career development, and family relationships. More recently, I have become increasingly interested in technology in counseling, including both teaching and practitioner applications.
Professional Organizations
American Counseling Association
North Carolina Counseling Association
Secretary/Treasurer, North Carolina Association of Marriage and Family Counselors
Current Research Projects
I am working on a qualitative research study examining the plans young women have for balancing work and family. This includes taking an empirical hermeneutic approach to analyzing narrative statements from college aged women regarding their plans for career and how these plans correspond with future marriage and family roles.
