Women's basketball coach Patricia Cage-Bibbs was once again named the 2009 MEAC Coach of the Year Taylor-James and Bland earned first-team All-MEAC accolades.

Chancellor Search Committee
The Chancellor Search Committee will have its first meeting Friday, March 13, from 1:30– 4 p.m., in the Alumni-Foundation Event Center, Gold Room 104.

At the meeting, Erskine B. Bowles, president of the University of North Carolina System, will give the committee its charge. This meeting is open to the public.

 

Battle Resignation
Chancellor Stanley F. Battle announced his resignation due to family and personal reasons, effective June 30.

Honors' Day Convocation
The Honors' Day Convocation will be held on Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at 3:00 p.m., in Harrison Auditorium. Dr. Haywood Brown, MD, chairman of the department of obstetrics and gynecology at Duke University Medical Center and an A&T alumnus, will be our speaker.

2009-2010 Text in Community
We are in the process of soliciting recommendations for the 2009-2010 "Text in Community". Please submit your suggestions to Dr. Beverly Grier, Chair of the Text in Community Committee, at bcgrier@ncat.edu by Friday, March 27, 2009. We look forward to engaging the University community in dialogue once a new book has been selected.

Please share this information with faculty and staff. I am sure that your units/ organizations will develop and conduct exciting activities related to the 2009-2010 Text in Community.

Health Fair
Department of Family and Consumer Sciences is getting on the ADA bandwagon with a National Nutrition Month Health Fair at the A&T Alumni-Foundation Event Center on Saturday, March 14, from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The event will feature FREE Health Screenings, food and fun activities for the entire family, information related to fitness and nutrition, healthy cooking, and disease prevention and treatment. Contact Dr. Patricia Lynch at 336-334-7651 for more information.
