A&T Student on CBS Evening News with Katie Couric
A&T student, Monique Johnson, will be featured on CBS Evening News with Katie Couric, Friday, Aug. 24, at 6:30 p.m., and she will need your vote.
Johnson, a rising junior, majoring in business administration, appeared in a story on WFMY-TV and in an article published by The Winston-Salem Chronicle last week. The touching story told of Johnsons' physical disability and the fund-raiser she had planned to raise money to continue paying for her education.
Johnson will appear on the show’s "Assignment America" with correspondent Steve Hartman. The show allows viewers to decide what stories will be featured. Every week Hartman reveals three story pitches. Viewers then log on to CBSNews.com to vote for their favorite. Hartman takes the winning pitch and turns it into a story for the following Friday's show.
Aggies and A&T supporters!
Watch the segment and go online to vote for Johnson at CBSNews.com. For more information, contact Nettie Rowland, 336.256.0863, or email rowlandn@ncat.edu.
