TALKING TOBACCO: A&T’s Schools of
Education and Nursing and Department of Journalism and Mass
Communication will host a town hall meeting at 4 p.m., April 24, in
the Dudley Building. This forum will bring together a panel
of policymakers with broad perspectives to discuss tobacco issues
and laws that interest and impact North Carolinians. Panelists
include Dr. Alma Adams, N.C. House of Representatives and Vice Chair
of the American Legacy Foundation; Carolyn Coleman, Guilford County
Board of Commissioners; and Mike Williams, Attorney's Office, City
of Greensboro. The moderator is Dr. Melvin Swann, a member of
A&T’s Board of Trustees. This project is made possible through
funding from the American Legacy Foundation and collaborations with
the WNAA 90.1-FM, N.C. Institute for Minority Economic Development,
Old Northstate Medical Society, Guilford County Health Department,
Family Services of the Piedmont, Bennett College and North Carolina

A&T to Remember Deceased
Aggies The N.C. A&T Campus Memorial Service will be held
at 12 noon, April 27, in Stallings Ballroom, Memorial Union. Provost
Carolyn W. Meyers appointed a committee to plan the Campus Memorial
Service to remember faculty, staff and students who have passed
during this academic school year. You may forward the names of
deceased, retired employees to be included during this ceremony to

The 1st Annual
SupplierDiversity Awareness in Motorsports Conference and Golf
Tournament

The
Association for Diversity in Motorsports (AFDIM) is sponsoring our
first Annual Supplier Diversity Awareness in Motorsports Conference
and Golf Tournament Thursday, April 28 through Saturday, April 30 at
the Grandover Resort and Conference Center in Greensboro. It will
begin at 2 p.m. with on- site registration beginning at 12
noon.
The purpose of the conference: (1) To educate
minority and women business owners about participation in the
motorsports industry and prepare them for business development in
the industry (2) To kick off AFDIM’s capital campaign drive for the
Mobile Museum of Diversity in Motorsports Caravan
Project.

FUTURES RETREAT Friday, April 29,
2005 Stallings Ballroom, Memorial Union 8 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Dr. Edward M. Penson will facilitate. The basis of the presentation
and discussion will be on the newly published FUTURES Report Card
that chronicles the accomplishments of the 2004-05 academic year.

POSTER SESSION A Poster Session
highlighting the outcomes of projects completed in May 2004 by
Futures Venture Fund Grant recipients will be featured during the
retreat. The posters will be displayed in the Exhibit Hall, Memorial
Student Union on Thursday, April 28, from 3:30 – 5 p.m. and Friday,
April 29, from 8 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.

Carly Fiorina is
keynote speaker for North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State
University’s 2005 Spring Commencement. The ceremony will be held
Saturday, May 7, in the Greensboro Coliseum. The lineup will begin
at 8 a.m., and the processional for both faculty and students will
begin at 8:30 a.m.

A&T Students Develop Infant Mortality
Prevention Campaign

N.C. A&T
students designed this community awareness campaign using billboards
and bus ads in Greensboro to help decrease infant mortality. It is a
prevention activity supported by FUTURES and includes participation
by nursing and marketing majors along with two programs in the
Guilford County Health Department.

~The annual Aggie-Eagle Classic between N.C.
A&T and N.C. Central, which is traditionally played
in Carter-Finley Stadium on the Sunday before Labor Day, will be
played on Monday, Sept. 5, at 1:30 p.m. Gates will open at 9 a.m.
N.C.State's football opener against Virginia Tech, originally
scheduled for Sept. 3, was moved to September 4. The game, will
be televised on ESPN2.
~Aggie Homecoming 2005 will take place
during the week of October 9 - 16, 2005. We have all kinds of
exciting events planned for you! There will be tailgating, dancing,
worship, vending, comedy, alumni reunions, football, and much, much
