Maya Angelu, the official poet lauriet for the United States, is a famous African-American author who is most noted for her series of autobiographies.

Autobiographical Books: "I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings"
			"Gather Together in My Name"
"Singin' and Swingin' and Gettin' Merry Like
				Christmas"
			"The Heart of a Woman"
"All God's Children Need Travelin' Shoes."

Other works include: "Poems" - a collection of some of her most famous poems
"Wouldn't Take Nothin' for My Journey Now" - essays on

My Recomendation: All of Maya Angelu's autographical books are excellent reading. I would recomend them to anyone who loves fiction or non-fiction. Her story is presented in a way to make you forget that it is non-fiction!
