College-Level Examination Program (CLEP) Testing

The College Board, who develops the CLEP tests, describes the program as follows on their web site:

The College-Level Examination Program® (CLEP) gives you the opportunity to receive college credit for what you already know by earning qualifying scores on any of 34 examinations. Earn credit for knowledge you've acquired through independent study, prior course work, on-the-job training, professional development, cultural pursuits, or internships.

Select CLEP tests may be applied towards studies at NC A&T. The list below details which tests meet NC A&T course requirements.

Registration

CLEP exam registration at North Carolina A&T is a two-step process.

  1. Reserve seat time with an examiner by submitting the completed Registration Form and administration fee.
  2. On the day of the examination, complete registration with ETS, the test provider, and submit the test fee.

Fees

$77 test fee (per test, payable to CLEP, due on exam date)
Credit card, check, or money order for test fee

$20 administration fee (per test, payable to NC A&T State University, due at registration)
Cash, check, or money order for administration fee
