Taking Care of Yourself After a Traumatic Event

A&T Home Page

The counseling process begins with an initial interview with a counselor to discuss your current situation and background.  Career decisions are based on factors such as interest, work related values, personality and abilities.  Therefore, interest, ability and personality tests are career assessment tools which may be used to answer your particular questions and facilitate the decision making process.

After the testing is complete, you meet again with your counselor to review the test results and their implications for your career choice.

Career testing often helps you in the process of deciding on a major or career, but it does not provide absolute answers.  Your counselor will help you identify the most appropriate assessment strategies for your individual situation.  You may also be directed to other informative resources such as: Occupational Information Network and/or the Occupational Outlook Handbook available in Counseling Services. Other departments on campus such as the Office of Career Services are available to assist student with career concerns.  Our goal is to help you make informed, thoughtful decisions about your future.
