MISSION STATEMENT (adopted January, 1999)

To provide an educational  program attune to the  unique abilities of  our students that  prepares  them  to  become productive Civil Engineers  contributing to the welfare, the quality of life, the protection, and advancement of the community.

PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

Educational Objective 1 –Our graduates will be ready for their first career assignment as an Engineer Intern.  Thus being able to work productively in most areas of the Civil Engineering profession.

Educational Objective 2 - Our graduates will be adequately prepared and motivated for proper and timely fulfillment of their career goals.

Educational Objective 3 - Our graduates will have made progress in the development of the knowledge, sensitivity, and skills necessary to function effectively within the social, economical, and political environments of professional engineering practice.

ACADEMIC GOALS

            The Academic Goals of the Civil Engineering Program are:

1.   To develop in the students a sense of professionalism.

2.   To teach the technical and communication skills required by the profession, and

3.   To teach students how to learn new material on their own.
