Directorate of Client Services

Directorate of Client Services serves as the primary contact for most campus computing services. Faculty, staff, and students are its clients. Client Services provides multitude of services to its customers and it is our objective to be the model customer service department of the institution. Currently our services falls under four major categories:

Help Desk provides assistance in information delivery, problem management, and technical troubleshooting for recommended hardware and supported software packages for the university. It is the Help Desk’s aim to become the central point for all the university’s computer related questions as well as a resource for information on the other services provided by Computing and Information Technology.

Systems Acquisition and Support establishes hardware and software standards for the university and monitors all hardware and software purchases to ensure compliance with the standard. Our staffs also help clients in researching and purchasing hardware and software that are appropriate for the intended purpose. Systems Acquisition and Support personnel also work with Faculty and staffs to resolve warranty related issues with vendors and monitors software licensing compliance campus wide.

Computer Lab Staffs are responsible for managing and supporting institutional classroom and public access computing labs. These labs include both IBM compatible and Macintosh computers and are open at various hours for convenience. Labs are equipped with diverse productivity, utilities, and educational software, as well as quality printers and other peripherals. Faulty can reserve these labs for special training purposes and request installation of special software in lab computers to be used by their students.

LAN Administration team of the Client Services directorate consults distributed IT professionals on campus regarding setting up and administering local area networks in their respective departments.
