The TECA Chapter and the Department of Graphic Communication Systems and Technological Studies at North Carolina A&T State University, in Greensboro, North Carolina would like to invite you to the TECA Eastern Regional Conference, February 16 through 18, 2006, in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

The 2006 conference promises to be packed full of opportunities for the pre-service teacher and the graduate level teacher to experience a broader, more worldly brand of professionalism. By traveling to a professional conference like the TECA Eastern Regional Conference, you will meet new pre-professionals and professionals from different parts of the country who come from different backgrounds and who have different interests than yourself. However, once you have a chance to interact with them, you will also realize how much you have in common. This is one of the ways in which professional communities are built over time.

If you succeed in your efforts at the conference, then you will have experienced the feeling of knowing that your hard work was worth it. If you don't place in a competition, then you'll learn what you would do differently next time when you reflect on your participation. These are two of the most important experiences that we have all experienced at one time or another at TECA. Both of these experiences will benefit you professionally after you graduate, whether you decide to teach or pursue another professional pathway.

Highlights

All of the same competitions that were offered at the 2005 conference will also be offered at the 2006 conference. Therefore, if you represented your chapter well last year in an event, or would like the chance to improve your performance from last year, then you have the chance. We will also provide time for socializing, swimming, and feature an interesting and relevant keynote speaker at the banquet.

Conference Registration and Lodging Reservations

The importance of registering early, before the deadline and reserving your room with the hotel before the deadline cannot be overstated. The conference's ability to provide these professional opportunities at an affordable price depends on your participation and our ability to count on a specific level of participation. So be sure that your chapter sends in its registration fees and secure your hotel rooms with a credit card.
