The chemical engineering curriculum is designed to provide you with a strong foundation in chemistry, physics, and mathematics, with the emphasis gradually shifting toward chemical engineering courses in the junior and senior years. The program provides you with the knowledge to apply basic skills and sound judgement to develop designs for economically converting materials and energy into useful products for the benefit of our society and culture.

The senior design sequence acts as a "capping stone" which coordinates all aspects of the chemical engineering curriculum. The social sciences and humanities background is included so that you will obtain a well-rounded education. The chemical engineering curriculum will prepare you for a career in industry or to go on to graduate school. It is also intended to be flexible enough to accommodate a broad range of educational interests. Sufficient electives have been provided so that you can select a senior area option based on your interests.
