Keith Schimmel joined the faculty of North Carolina A&T as an assistant professor in 1990 and was promoted to Associate Professor in 1996. In the summer of 1991 he served as a faculty fellow for EG&G Idaho, Inc.

He has been an officer of the Triad Chemical Engineers Club (Vice President 94-95, President 95-96) and was the department's 1996 nominee for Outstanding College of Engineering Researcher. Principal
