Founded in 1880 as the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, today ASME International is a nonprofit educational and technical organization serving a worldwide membership of 125,000. The work of the Society is performed by its member-elected Board of Governors and through its five Councils, 44 Boards and hundreds of Committees in 13 regions throughout the world. There are a combined 400 sections and student sections serving ASME's worldwide membership. Visit to Cummins

A group of  ASME Student members visited the consolidated Diesel Company on Sept. 19, 2006. The team was first welcomed by the plant manager, Mr. Wayne Ripberger, and briefed about the company employment opportunities in the company. This was followed by Plant tour when the students had direct opportunities to lean about various design, processing,  and manufacturing step of various types of engines.

           

Executive Board Visit to University of Virginia

The 2006 E-board members participated in on day Student Leadership Seminar (SLS) held at the University of Virginia on Sept. 30, 2006. This seminar provided the student body information about how to run the Student Section more efficiently. The students also interacted with their counterpart from different Universities.
