Lt Col Robert Payne
Lt Col Robert Payne is Commander and Professor of Aerospace
Studies at Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps
(AFROTC) Detachment 605, North Carolina A&T State
University. Detachment 605 recruits, educates, trains,
motivates, selects, and commissions officer candidates
through a comprehensive college program. It is the
only AFROTC Detachment in the Piedmont Triad area,
serving cadets from 10 different colleges and
universities. Lt Col Payne was commissioned in June 1991 via AFROTC Detachment 432A at the University of South Alabama in Mobile, AL upon graduation with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics. He has served in a variety of wing and staff positions. He is a Master Space and Missile Operator with experience working with the Defense Support Program Satellite System and the Minuteman III Intercontinental Ballistic Missile. Prior to his current assignment, Lt Col Payne was the Operations Officer for the 741st Missile Squadron at Minot Air Force Base, North Dakota.

Major John T. Cudar
Major John T. Cudar is the Operations Officer and
Assistant Professor of Aerospace Studies at Detachment 605,
Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC), North Carolina A&T State University.
Major Cudar was commissioned in May 1998 via the
AFROTC Detachment 765 program upon graduation with a Bachelor of Science Degree
in Health and Physical Education from The Citadel. Prior to his present assignment
at Detachment 605, he has served in a variety of squadron positions including Chief
of Standards and Evaluations and Assistant Director of Operations in the 48th Flight
Training Squadron Columbus Air Force Base, Mississippi. He also served as a
Traditional Reserve Instructor Pilot in the 43rd Flight Training Squadron before returning to active duty.
