This program allows students to attend their local community college for an initial two years of college. Then, attend North Carolina A&T State University for an additional two years to successfully earn two college degrees.
What two degrees will be earned?
A student in the 2 + 2 Transfer Program will earn an Associates degree and a Bachelor of Science degree.
What are the requirements for the 2 + 2 Transfer Program?

- Earn an Associate degree

PRAXIS is a standardized exam required to enter the Teacher Education profession. Prior to transferring to NC A&T, a student must pass PRAXIS I; the PRAXIS II must be passed before performing student teaching.
Where would I take courses?
The first 64* will be completed at the campus of your local community college. Most (approximately 90%) of the courses required to complete the B.S. degree will be offered online. Students can take all the courses offered online through distance education, i.e. via access to a computer. Any courses not available online will need to be taken at the campus of NC A&T State University.
Will I need to purchase a computer?
A student will need to have access to a computer with capabilities to connect to the internet. Additionally, it will be easier for a student to complete course assignments using word processing software, spreadsheet software and presentation graphics. Therefore, it is advisable to have access to Microsoft Word.
Where will I conduct the student teaching requirement?
All students pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education will be required to student teach. Every effort will be made to place 2 + 2 students in schools local to the originating community college. This is dependent upon local needs at that time in relation to the demand.
