Students,
faculty and staff are encouraged to listen to local television and
radio stations for information on the status of the school/work day.
In addition, the A&T InfoLine (336-334-7325) provides information
about emergency closings when appropriate. Do not call
news media for emergency closing information. Those
who want a quicker answer regarding the status of university offices
and classes during emergencies may visit the A&T website at http://www.ncat.edu. Closings before the workday begins When adverse weather or other emergencies occur before the workday begins, every effort will be made to give official notification of closings between 6 - 6:30 a.m. When the university is open, employees who are absent or report late will have lost time charged to vacation or bonus leave or earned compensatory time. When it has been determined that the university will be officially closed by the Chancellor, time lost will not be charged to vacation leave. To account for time not worked, please refer to the Adverse Weather Policy that is found at http://businessfinance.ncat.edu/HRS/S11_ADVE.HTM. Closings during the workday When adverse weather conditions develop during the workday, notification
of an impending closing will be given via appropriate reporting mechanisms.
When the decision is to remain open, employees anticipating special problems
in transportation should be permitted to use vacation or bonus leave
privileges or earned compensatory time as early in the day as possible.
