Homecoming Parade

Greetings 2016 Homecoming Parade Applicant

As North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University celebrates 125 years of innovation, excellence, and pride, we are excited about your interest in the University’s Annual Homecoming Parade. The 2016 Homecoming Parade will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2016 starting at 8:00 am.

Parade Entry Fee(s): All individuals, groups, organizations, and agencies other than N.C. A&T recognized and registered student organizations are required to pay a parade entry fee. The parade entry fees are as follows:

$225 for the 1st unit. This includes, but is not limited to, one vehicle (car or truck), one float, one pedestrian/walking unit, or one performance group.

$175  for one pedestrian/walking group OR one performance group. (excluding bands)

$125 for one additional unit. (i.e. one vehicle and one walking group; two walking groups; etc.)

$400 for 3 to 6 units.

$500 for 7 to 10 units.

All application fees are non-refundable and must be paid at either the Student Activities Homecoming page or at the A&T Treasurer’s Office, located on the first floor of the Dowdy Building. If paying at the A&T Treasurer’s Office, please use the attached university transmittal form.

Application: Please complete and submit the online application by Friday, September 30, 2016. If you are not submitting an application and payment online, please bring application and receipt of payment to Murphy Hall, Suite 01. Applications received after September 30, 2016 and before October 10, 2016 will incur a $50 late fee. Applications received after October 10, 2016 will not be accepted with or without payment.

Parade Safety for Participants and Spectators: In order to assure safety, all parade entrants are required to pass through our police security checkpoint on the morning of the parade. In addition, all floats must pass a safety inspection by our Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Office. EHS will be on site the morning of the parade conducting safety inspections. Throwing candy or other items from the parade route is PROHIBITED. Additionally, motorcycles will not be allowed be allowed in the parade this year.  Additionally, failure to comply with rules and regulations will result in denial of entry in following year(s).

MANDATORY Participant Meeting: One representative from all participants is required to attend a mandatory parade meeting. You will receive imperative parade information and materials. This meeting will take place the week before homecoming; entrants will receive information regarding meeting times and locations upon receipt of application and payment.
