Homecoming Parade Information
Dear Alumni and Community Parade Applicants:
We are excited about your interest in the North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University’s Annual Homecoming Parade. The 2014 Homecoming Parade will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2014 starting at 8:00 am.
Parade Entry Fee(s): All individuals, groups, organizations and agencies other than NC A&T SU recognized and registered student organizations are required to pay a parade entry fee. The parade entry fees are as follows:
$200 entry fee for vehicles, which includes 2 new magnets per parade year. Vehicle entries are defined as the following: One vehicle (car or truck), one float, or two motorcycles.
$175 parade entry fee for all other types of entries which includes, but is not limited to: pedestrian/walking units, two go-carts, performance groups, etc.
$100 entry fee for additional units from either category based on the lists above and availability (i.e. walking unit with a float or vehicle).
$325 for group pricing for “Car Clubs”, Motorcycle groups etc. for no more than 6 vehicles and $425 per group for up to 10 vehicles.
Groups are eligible to include one additional entry at the above stated rate. All application fees are non-refundable and must be paid at the A&T Treasurer’s Office, located on the first floor of the Dowdy Building. Please use the attached university transmittal when making payment at the Treasurer’s Office.
Application: Please complete the online application and submit if by Monday, September 15, 2014. Completed applications will include an attached copy of the receipt for review. Out of state participants are encouraged to contact the Treasurers at (336) 334-7721 (after the greeting, press 3) to arrange electronic payment of the parade fee. Applications received after September 15, will incur a $50 late fee. Applications received after September 25 or without payment will not be accepted.
Parade Safety for Participants and Spectators: In order to assure safety, all parade entrants are required to pass through our police security checkpoint on the morning of the parade. In addition, all floats must pass a safety inspection by our Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Office. EHS will be on site the morning of the parade conducting safety inspections. Throwing candy or other items from the parade route is PROHIBITED.
MANDATORY PARADE Meeting: All participant entries/groups are required to attend a mandatory parade meeting. You will receive your parade permit and signs (if applicable), as well as instructions on when and where to arrive. Entrants will receive information regarding meeting times and locations upon receipt of application.
