General Information

New Students- includes new freshmen, transfer students, new graduate students and any continuing student who has not used educational benefits at North Carolina A&T.

ALL NEW STUDENTS MUST PERSONALLY COME INTO THE OFFICE IN ORDER TO START A FILE. PAPER WORK WILL BE ACCEPTED VIA FAX, EMAIL, OR POSTAL SERVICE FOR DISTANCE LEARNING STUDENTS ONLY.

Returning Students- are those students who currently have a file in the OVDSS Office.  All returning students must be in good standing with the university and our office in order to be certified. You are held fully responsible to the terms of the Certification Agreement.

Acceptance Letter- A letter of acceptance will be sent to you upon admission to the university.

 *if you have been re-admitted to the university, a re-admittance letter is required.

 *Graduate Students must be accepted on Unconditional Status only.

Curriculum Guide- You are to follow the curriculum for your current major for the academic year under which you enter. You should keep a record of your progress.  Only required courses and approved substitutions courses are eligible for benefits.

Changing your major- Fill out a change of major form, signed by the deparment officals and bring a copy to the OVDSS.  Obtain a copy of your new curriculum guide, indicating all the courses completed and transfer credits, and provide a copy to OVDSS. This copy must be signed and dated by your advisor, department chair, or dean.  Complete the appropriate VA form (22-1995 or 22-5495)

Substitutions- Substitutions must be approved by your advisor, chairperson, or dean prior to you enrolling in the course. A substitution form for the class must be signed by your advisor, chairperson, or dean and dated.

Military Credit- Service members may be eligible to receive college credit. Please get your military credit evaluation from the Admission's office. Be sure to take your NOBE or DD-214 with you to the admissions office.
