Greetings From The Student Health Center
Please read important information from the Director about your health insurance coverage!
The staff, management and administration of the North Carolina A&T State University Student Health Center, a division of Student Affairs, extends a warm welcome from our brand new facility which opened the spring semester 2015. Our commitment to provide the highest quality health care is bolstered by our excitement of doing so in a state-of-the-art medical facility. The campus location for the new health center is 112 North Benbow Road on the corner of Bluford Street.
The N.C. A&T Student Health Center is fully accredited by AAA (Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care). Under the direction of the Medical Director, Dr. David Wagner, all members of our medical staff are professionally trained, licensed, and certified in their respective fields.
Only Registered Nurses (RN) work in the clinic and each nurse holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree (BSN). In December 2014, the center’s laboratory underwent an audit by COLA, an independent accrediting organization that re-certified the lab meets federal standards applied to all U.S. facilities. In addition, each health center’s staff member undergoes continuing education as required by their professional licenses.
The offices of Medical Records and Insurance assist students and the nursing staff in meeting the enrollment requirements for the state of North Carolina.
The services offered by the N.C. A&T Student Health Center include:
• Clinical (including Women’s and Men's Health)
• Wellness Promotion
• Health Education
• Psychiatry / Counseling for Health Education & Pharmacy (only)
The Mission of the Student Health center is to provide patient centered, holistic health care services to the students of North Carolina A&T State University according to recommended standards, based upon current medical and health related information.
The staff’s commitment to fulfill this mission, combined with the opportunities to deliver superior care in the new facility, heralds an elevation to the next level in A&T Student Healthcare services.
We want our students to recognize the importance of preventive health care and encourage them to take advantage of the services offered at the N.C. A&T Student Health Center. This will empower students to better care for themselves so they can be more successful in their academic, social, and personal lives.
