The laboratory is accredited by the Commission on Office Laboratory Accreditation (COLA), and participates in Proficiency Testing programs with the College of American Pathology (CAP) and the American Proficiency Institute (API). Accreditation gives NC A&T State University the assurance and confidence that its health center facility is producing the best, and highest quality patient care!
We offer comprehensive laboratory services to students of the university. These services include hematology, chemistry profiles, Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) testing, serology, microbiology, urinalysis, pregnancy testing and a host of other specialty screenings. Specimens for other necessary tests are collected at the Student Health Center and are outsourced to other facilities.
The Laboratory hours of operation are: 8:00am – 6:00pm Monday to Friday, closed weekends and holidays.
Laboratory services are provided at a minimal cost to students. These charges are not included in the student's general health fee, however, the university's student insurance does provide some laboratory fee coverage. If you have questions concerning prices of services, please inquire at the time of your visit or call (336) 334-7880 regarding specific pricing.
Payment is due at the time of service by cash, check, MC/VISA, American Express,or Aggie One Card; or students may charge the fee to their student account. The Student Health Center files the university-endorsed insurance health plan only. Students with outside insurance must file claims directly with their insurance company. Students with outside insurance will be charged a nominal fee to process any specimen outsourced to a reference lab. For more information, please contact the Student Health Center.
Laboratory ResultsResults on most of the routine tests performed in-house are made available either during your visit, or within a few days after services.
