Research is an essential component of undergraduate education at N.C. A&T.  The Office of Undergraduate Research works with and promotes the university's existing program and is creating new opportunities, such as the Undergraduate Research Symposium, first held in September 2010, and Undergraduate Research Day, held each year during Research Week in April.

Innovation Challenge 2013-14

All N.C. A&T undergraduates are invited to form small teams in a competition of creativity and ingenuity. Teams are challenged to create something new and different -- a product, a device or a new way of doing something.  Entries are judged on innovation, practicality, and benefits of the innovation, and other criteria. Click here for information on the 2013 challenge.

Office of Undergraduate Research

The Office of Undergraduate Research works to:

  • Improve the intellectual climate of the university by increasing the number of students who are engaged and supported in undergraduate research
  • Improve operational efficiencies by serving as the nucleus for ongoing undergraduate re-search activities both on campus and those available through external partnerships
  • Expand the university’s resources through synergistic activities that leverage resources from various funding sources, and centralized coordination of research activities
  • Improve marketing efforts by positioning N.C. A&T as a leader in undergraduate research
