Tonjia May, M.A, CRA Director of Budget Services in N.C. A&T’s Division of Research and Economic Development (DORED) has been elected as Treasurer of the North Carolina chapter of the Society of Research Administrators (SRA) International. Her two-year term as treasurer began after the annual North Carolina Chapter Meeting, which was held in Raleigh on April 8, 2016.

SRA is the premier global research management society providing education, professional development and the latest comprehensive information about research management to 5,200 members from more than 40 countries. The North Carolina Chapter of SRAI has approximately 200 members. The organization welcomes members from colleges and universities, research hospitals and institutes, government agencies, non-profit funders of research, and industry.

“ This honor means a great deal to me and is a terrific opportunity to represent N.C. A&T in this capacity,” said May, who joined SRA in 2010.

Tonjia has been instrumental in facilitating NC A&T’s Research Administrators Council (RAC). RAC is a learning community consisting of administrators across campus who assist University faculty with Pre-award and Post-award grant administration.
