EPA Salary and Budget Administration

The Office of EPA Salary and Budget Administration operates as a support office for the EPA employees of the university as it relates to EPA salary budget issues. The unit also has responsibility for maintaining salary budgets of all EPA state funded positions, including the usage of salary reserve funds, lapsed salaries, release time funding, and the Faculty Recruiting and Retention Fund. The unit is also responsible for providing assistance in the coordination of budget processes that impact EPA non state funded resources.

In compliance with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) requirements, the unit is responsible for verifying and monitoring academic credentials for faculty new hires and works closely with the Provost's staff in maintaining faculty files containing academic credentials in order to assist in the annual Promotion and Tenure and Post-Tenure Review processes. In addition, the unit manages, in conjunction with the Human Resources Benefits Office, the University of North Carolina (UNC) Phased Retirement Program for tenured faculty.
