GREENSBORO, N.C. - North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University alumna Jacqueline Williams has been elected president of Aggie Heritage Friends. Aggie Heritage Friends is comprised of
alumni and friends of N.C. A&T who have made planned gifts to
the university in one or more of the following categories: outright
lifetime contribution, bargain sale, charitable gift annuity, charitable
remainder trust, pooled income fund, charitable lead trust, gift of
a partial interest in a property, charitable bequest or gift of life
insurance. The
organization was founded in 1990 and has 20 members. A 1963 graduate, Williams has made contributions to the university for more than 25 years. "I wholeheartedly believe that my life accomplishments and those of my family members have been a result of the education we received from A&T," the retired school teacher said. Williams' late husband Andrew Williams and son, Greensboro attorney Joseph A. Williams, are graduates of A&T. Husband Andrew served as chairman of A&T's department of industrial technology until his death in 1977 and son Joseph serves on the university's Board of Trustees. Grandson Joseph Williams is a student at A&T. "Mrs. Williams and other members of the Aggie Heritage Friends are creating their own legacy at A&T," said Anthony Holloman, director of planned giving. "The contributions they are making to A&T will be a critical part of our $100 million capital campaign, which is currently underway at the university. |
