President of Spike Lee's AD Agency to Speak at A&T

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Dana Wade, president of SpikeDDB - Spike Lee's ad agency, will visit North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University Wednesday, Nov. 20, from 10 a.m. - 3:15 p.m. in Merrick Hall, under the auspices of the Ambassador Program of the Advertising Educational foundation. The departments of business administration and speech communication will host the event.

The Ambassador Program sends high level, seasoned advertising or marketing executives to colleges and universities across the country to discuss with students and faculty the advertising process and the issues surrounding advertising.

The Advertising Educational Foundation is a nonprofit organization supported by agencies, media companies and advertisers and is dedicated to building a better understanding and greater appreciation of the socioeconomic role of advertising in our lives.
Wade's program will include a general presentation, visits to classrooms to discuss advertising as it applies to particular disciplines and an informal session with students and faculty.

Under Wade's leadership as president of SpikeDDB, the agency new business ventures included the NFL, Remy Martin, McDonald's NY Metro Co-op, Foxwoods Resort Casino and the NY Knicks.

Prior to joining Spike DDB, Wade was senior vice president accounts director leading global strategic development on the Citibank business at Young and Rubicam. During her tenure at Citibank she developed the strategy that began to lay the foundation to position Citibank as a global brand as well as laying the foundation that began to broaden customers perspective of the bank. In addition, she led the strategic development for Citibank's first global sponsorship--Elton John's 1998 World Tour and led her team to a Silver EFFIE for its efforts. Wade also led strategic development on global new product initiatives for the bank.   Other assignments at Y&R included American Home Products and Kentucky Fried Chicken.

During her tenure at McCann-Erickson/Los Angeles, Wade was assigned to Nestle USA business. She was responsible for the National introduction of Nestle Sweet Success, now one of Nestle's top 10 brands.
Wade has received numerous awards including the National Achiever in Industry Award by Young and Rubicam and the Harlem YMCA award. She has also been acknowledged by Nestle USA in a publication titled Women of Courage. The book, in its second publication by Nestle, chronicles the careers of 10 female multi-industry leaders.
