Life and Physical Sciences Research Symposium to be Held at A&T

GREENSBORO - The Eighth Annual Life and Physical Sciences Research Symposium, which was canceled because of inclement weather, has been rescheduled for Saturday, April 5, in Barnes Hall at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. The theme will be "Promoting Interdisciplinary Approaches to Global Issues in Science."

Dr. Sandra Murray, professor of cell biology and physiology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, will be the "Visiting Scientist" for the symposium. .Murray has a global research perspective, having worked in Lyons, France and Ethiopia in connection with her research and teaching. Two N.C. A&T graduates, Dr. Jabbar Bennett and Dr. Penny Sappington, will be featured presenters at the symposium.

The format for the symposium will be the same as in previous years with faculty and students at A & T and from local universities presenting their research findings in platform and poster formats throughout the day. The plenary session will begin at 9 a.m. in the Barnes Hall Auditorium
