Pringle Receives Promotion

GREENSBORO - Vallie J. Pringle, an assistant professor of military science at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, has been promoted to the rank of lieutenant colonel in the United States Army Reserve. Pringle serves as a recruiting operations officer. Her primary role is to educate students attending or planning to attend a college/university about the Army Reserve Officers’ Training Corps Program.

A native of Fayetteville, N.C., Pringle received her commission as a second lieutenant in the United States Army Signal Corps in 1983 after completing her studies in biology at Greensboro College. She earned a M.S. degree in

human resources management from Golden Gate University. Pringle also is a graduate of the Signal Officer Advance Course, Combined Arms Services Staff School and Basic Contracting Program from the Defense Acquisition University.
Her active and reserve duty assignments include Logistics Support Officer, Fort Hunter Liggett, Calif; Platoon Leader and Property Book Officer, Camp Colburn, South Korea; Communications-Electronic Staff Officer and Company Commander, Fort Huachuca, Ariz.; Program Management Officer, Ramstein, Germany, Procurement Officer, Youngsan, Korea; Contract Management Officer, Indianapolis,
Ind.; and presently Contract Management Officer, Rock Island, Ill.
Pringle’s decorations, awards and badges include Army Commendation Medal with three Oak Leaf Clusters, Army Achievement Medal, Army Reserve Component Overseas Training Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon with number three, Southwest Asia Service Medal, Parachutist Badge and Kuwaiti Liberation Medal.
