A&T NAMES DUNN CHAIR OF ELECTRONICS AND COMPUTER TECHNOLOGY

 

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Dr. Derrek Butler Dunn,

an associate professor at North Carolina Agricultural

and Technical State University, has been promoted to chair of the department of electronics and computer technology.  He will assume his new position in August.


Dunn has been a faculty member in the School of Technology since 1998.  He received  B.S. degrees

in mathematics and electrical engineering from N.C.

 

A&T,  M.S. degrees in mathematics and electrical engineering and Ph.D. in electrical engineering from

the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.

 

His current research interests include global

positioning systems, wireless communication

system design, real-time optical image processing

and remote sensing of the lower atmosphere. He

has obtained over $1.6 million in research and

in-kind contributions to A&T.
