GREENSBORO, N.C. - North Agricultural and Technical State University will host the 27th Annual Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) Conference February 26-28 in Raleigh, N.C.  The  three-day conference will be held in conjunction with the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association Basketball (CIAA) Tournament at the Raleigh Entertainment and Sports Arena.  Approximately 25 universities will be represented at major events.

The presidents and chancellor of 23 HBCUs that host the US Army Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) senior programs will meet with the United States Army Cadet Command and other government officials  to discuss pertinent issues that affect their schools and the Army ROTC Program.

The goals are to:

  • provide a forum for USACC (United States Army Cadet Command)  to update the attendees on the status of ROTC programs, issues, and initiatives affecting HBCUs.
  • provide a forum for the HBCU ROTC leadership to discuss their initiatives and challenges in their effort to commission quality cadets.
  • provide a forum for the discussion of ways to improve awareness of the value of officership in the African-American community.
  • provide for the formal exchange of information between HBCU presidents/chancellors and the U.S. Army Cadet Command.
