GREENSBORO, N.C. -
The
E. Gwynn Dancers of North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State
University will perform 7:30 p.m., Saturday, March 1, in
Harrison Auditorium.
The
theme of the concert is "Celebrating the Strength of Our
Ancestors: Keeping the Legacy Alive." The performance will highlight a variety of culturally
diverse dances from West Africa, North Africa, the Caribbean and South
America. A core of five
drummers will accompany the dancers.
The company has dancers and musicians comprised of N.C. A&T
students, Bennett College, UNCG, area high schools, graduates and
local Greensboro residents.
This
event is $5.00 for general public and $3.00 students. It is part
of the university’s Lyceum Series.
