HIGH SCHOOL TEAMS WIN ROBOTICS COMPETITION

Two Guilford County Schools, Southeastern and T.W. Andrews are winners of the Aggieland Championship along with Trinity High School of Durham, N.C. The 3rd Annual Aggieland Challenge Robotics competition was held on March 21, on the campus of North Carolina A&T State University. The North Carolina teams will be included among the 100 teams representing many states and countries from around the globe. They will advance on to the FIRST Tech Challenge World Championship to be held in Atlanta, Ga., April 15 -17. This international event has been called the super bowl of robotic competitions.

At the Aggieland Challenge Robotics competition, Grimsley High School won the innovation award. This event was sponsored by the N.C. A&T Office of Summer Sessions and Outreach, with grants from Piedmont Triad Partnership and the Cemala Foundation, which provides high school age students with the opportunity to develop and program a robot with the ultimate goal of advancing to the international championship.
