![]() The Office of International Programs (OIP) at North Carolina A&T State University recently welcomed aboard two new staff members -Allegra Johnson and Alicia Wallace. Johnson will serve as the new OIP Study Abroad Coordinator. She comes to N.C. A&T from Washington State University, where she was an Education Abroad Adviser/Outgoing Exchange Coordinator from 2004-2008. Johnson earned her B.A. in English and French at Spelman College and her master's degree in international education at the School for International Training in Brattleboro, Vermont. She served as a graduate intern in the Study Abroad Office at Spelman College. Johnson has participated in the UNCF Institute for International Public Policy (IIPP), a fellowship program for college students interested in careers in international relations and studied abroad in Martinique and France. Upon graduation she returned to France to work as an English language assistant at the Cite Scolaire Albert Camus in Mourenx, France. She is a member of NAFSA: Association of International Educators. Wallace will serve as the new program assistant and comes to A&T from Bank of America in Charlotte. A graduate of the University of North Carolina - Charlotte, Wallace earned her B.A. in international studies. She spent her junior year studying abroad in Japan and also participated in summer study abroad in San Jose, Costa Rica. While attending UNCC, Wallace was an intern in the UNCC Office of Education Abroad. After graduating she worked in the Study Abroad Office at the University of Maryland, College Park and at the International House at Duke University. The OIP encompass all disciplines in the University and provides academic exchange programs for students and faculty; study abroad; managing agreements with overseas institutions; working with faculty to develop new international programs; Global Studies Certificate Program; and global awareness activities through various cultural and educational activities throughout the year to create a campus-wide global perspective.
