North Carolina A&T recently appointed Joya Cook as the assistant athletics director of marketing. Prior to coming to A&T, Cook served as a marketing specialist at Clear Channel Radio in Greensboro. She has served as director of marketing and promotions for Sheridan Gospel Network in Atlanta, Ga., partner with Everything Under the Son Marketing and Events in Greensboro, regional marketing and promotions director for DreamWorks Records in Beverly Hills, Ca., and regional promotions director for Platinum Entertainment in Alpharetta, Ga.

Cook studied communication at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
