![]() Aasiya Townsell, a senior print journalism major at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, has been named editor-in-chief of the institution’s student newspaper, The A&T Register, for 2008-2009. Townsell has worked at the newspaper for three years and has held several positions including news editor and scene editor. During her sophomore year, the honor student was named the Most Promising Contributor to the newspaper. A member of the A&T swim team, Townsell, has received numerous awards and honors including the All-Academic Award for Aggie Athletes, the Caterpillar Scholarship, the Henry Whitehead Endowed Scholarship and the Chancellor Merit Scholarship. The Cincinnati, Ohio native has studied in Paris, France for fashion journalism and photography. While participating in the program she wrote features on street-urban fashion designers and took professional photo shoots.
