A&T's VISUAL ARTS PROGRAM PERFORMS 'A SOLDIER'S PLAY'
A Soldier

The Department of Visual and Performing Arts at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University will kick off its season with a performance of A Soldier's Play by Charles Fuller at the Paul Robeson Theatre beginning in October.

Playwright Charles Fuller describes A Soldier’s Play as a confrontation between evil and innocence that results in tragedy. While it is about the investigation of a murder, A Soldier’s Play is not a murder mystery in the strictest sense. Instead, the investigation by a black officer is primarily an exploration into who the slain victim really was and how racism influences men’s behaviors and ideals. Critics were enthusiastic about Fuller’s play, which won a Pulitzer Prize and the New York Drama Critics Award in 1982.

Show dates are: Thursday, Oct. 9 - Sunday, Oct. 12, and Thursday, Oct. 16 - Sunday, Oct. 19. Show times are Thursday - Saturday at 8 p.m., Sunday at 3 p.m. Tickets prices are: General Admission - $15; Children 12 & under - $5; Senior citizens and non A&T students - $10 and A&T students free with Aggie One Card. For ticket information call 336.334.7749.
