![]() Dr. Fuabeh Fonge, an associate professor of history at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, presented a paper titled "United States Diversity Lottery, African Immigrants, and the Re-coloring of Historically Black Colleges and Universities," at the 18th annual Conference on African American Culture and Experience that was recently held at UNCG. Fonge's paper, which focus on recent American immigration laws, examined the changing composition of African immigrants, African permanent residents in he U.S., the interactions between African American and African immigrants and the place of African born Americans in higher education . The purpose of the paper was to generate understanding amongst members of the wider community by seeking ways to achieve diversity in a race-neutral environment. | |||||||
