A&T to Help Others in Commemoration of MLK

GREENSBORO, N.C.
- On Monday, Jan. 20, in commemoration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., the students of North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University will participate in several community outreach projects. The faculty, staff and administrators will assist the students in carrying out their activities.

Monday's activities will include:

  • Potter's House (305 W. Lee St.)
    9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
    Prepare and serve meals

  • Habitat for Humanity Retail Store (3826 High Point Rd.)
    9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
    Restock shelves and cabinets

  • Weaver House (305 W. Lee St.)
    11:00 a.m.
    Deliver items collected for house

  • Ray Warren Homes (1306 E. Lee Street)
    Sponsor Martin Luther King Jr. Program for Youth in Greensboro housing community. Activities will include university insights from A&T's Chancellor, Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, Student Leaders and Alumni. Additionally, there will be a puppet show, Greek Step Show, movie clip of "I Have A Dream" speech and refreshments.

The Pathway Center (3527 N. Church St.)
4:40 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Provide table games, arts and crafts and refreshments

On January 18-19 there will be an Intramural Sports MLK Invitational Basketball Tournament at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem.
