      TWENTY-FIVE TRIAD RESIDENTS RECEIVE CERTIFICATES IN PRINTING AND DESIGN

GREENSBORO, NC - Twenty-five Triad residents recently received continued education credits and certificates for completing a six-week training program in printing and design at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University.



The students are Barbara Bray, Brandon M. Burnett, Carlton Coleman, Alene J. Evans, Milton Gerald, Sami Kudouda, LoRhonda Howard, Patricia D. Hughes, Hasheim Mahmond, Deborah H. Mayhand, Judy Mayhand-Howard, Christopher Ndingwan, Robert Parker Jr., Patricia A. Posey, John Rogers, Sandra B. Russell, John F. Seale Jr., Carolyn A. Shepard, Deborah D. Smith, John Philip Stevens, Leslie Taylor, Alexius A. Uzokwe, Renalda Whitaker, Danyelle Wilson, and Shantell Wilson.

The students received learning experience in printing and design that was oriented towards employability and readiness skills, with hands-on application from design through production to bindery. They also received hands-on graphic design experience using basic graphic related software programs and terminology, basic camera, plate making, press and bindery skills, customer service, estimating, as well as math skills.

Conducting the training for the project were Dr. Cynthia C. Gillispie Johnson (principle investigator) and Drs. Devang Mehta, Arjun Kapur and Vincent Childress (co-investigators), all faculty members in A&T's department of graphic communication systems and technological studies.

The training project was funded by the Graphic Arts Education and Research Foundation.
