     A&T PROFESSOR TO BE RECOGNIZED FOR CAREER ACHIEVEMENTS

GREENSBORO, NC - Dr. Judy Perkins, an associate professor in the civil engineering department at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University will be honored for her career achievements at the National Women of Color Technology Awards Conference Sept. 19-21 in Atlanta, Ga.

Perkins will be among 26 of this country's dynamic female executives, scientists, engineers, mathematicians, and researchers to receive this honor. These women have distinguished themselves as modern-day trailblazers, and have overcome career challenges and pitfalls to excel in fields that were closed to them only a few short decades ago.

Now in its seventh year, the conference is hosted by the IBM Corporation and produced by Career Communications Group Inc., publishers of U.S. Black Engineer & Information Technology magazine and its sister publication, Hispanic Engineer & Information Technology.

The conference will feature Fortune 100 companies, who will present timely, cutting-edge training sessions designed to address the professional development needs of entry-to-senior-level employees. Additionally, there will be a candid roundtable discussion with female executives and business and financial planning seminars.

Perkins received her B.S. degree from Southern University, M.S. degree from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and Ph.D. degree from Georgia Tech. (EIT).
