A&T School of Nursing Receive State of the Art Equipment from Nursing Association-Industry Collaboration

Greensboro, N.C. - Two nursing associations and a leading healthcare technology manufacturer recently donated state of the
art oxygen monitoring equipment and educational resources valued at more than $5,000 to the clinical skills laboratory for nurses
at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University.

The American Association of Critical-Care Nurses and the American Organization of Nurse Executives partnered with Nellcor/Tyco Healthcare to donate advanced-technology Nellcor pulse oximeters and educational resources to N.C A&T School of Nursing and 125 other schools of Nursing in 48 states, the District of Columbia and U.S. Virgin Islands.

A&T and the other schools will also have access to the expertise of Nellcor’s field-based team of hospital clinical consultants.
Pulse oximeters are routinely used in critical care units and increasingly in many other patient care areas. Pulse oximeters offer
a cost-effective way to measure a patient’s heart rate and the amount of oxygen in the blood non-invasively, that is, without
needing to pierce the skin.
