        RENICK NAMES LEA DEAN OF THE SCHOOL OF NURSING 

GREENSBORO, NC  - North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University Chancellor James C. Renick recently announced the appointment of Patricia Price Lea, Ph.D., RNC, as dean of the School of Nursing. The announcement was made following the approval by the UNC Board of Governors.

Lea has served as interim dean of the School since January 2001.

"Dr. Lea has proven that she has the ability and expertise to move our nursing program forward and keep it on the cutting edge," said Dr. Carolyn Meyers, A&T provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs.

Since joining the A&T faculty in 1975, Lea has served as an instructor, assistant and associate professor and interim dean. She has also served as a clinical instructor at Rockingham Community College.

Lea has earned numerous awards and honors during her career including the Board of Governers' Doctoral Study Award, the Patricia Roberts Harris Fellowship - Academic
 Award and the North Carolina Board of Governors' Doctoral Study Assignment Award. In 1999 and 2000, she won N.C. A&T's School of Nursing Outstanding Teacher of the Year Award and was listed as one of the Great One Hundred Nurses in North Carolina in 2001.

Lea received her B.S.N. from Winston-Salem State University, M.S. N. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, M.S. Ed. from A&T and Ph.D. from Wayne State University.
