A&T Sife Team to Compete at National Free Enterprise Competition

GREENSBORO - Nine enterprising college students representing North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University will participate at the 2003 SIFE USA National Exposition, hosted by the Kansas City Business Community, May 11-13 in Missouri.
The students are Angelica Smallwood, Jocelynn Jacobs, Lakela Richardson, Crystal Buster, Bryan McCullough, Brian Beatty, Jonathan Allen, Daniel Williams and Cordell Harris.

The SIFE Team will compete against teams representing students from around the country. Earlier in the school year, each team competed and won at one of 22 regional competitions. The A&T SIFE team was named Regional Champion at the Charlotte, N.C., SIFE regional competition held April 4.

During the national competition, SIFE teams will present 24-minute multi-media summaries of the educational outreach projects they developed and implemented throughout the year. They will be judged by panels drawn from the nation’s top business and community leaders. The SIFE USA National Champion in the 4-year division will compete at SIFE World Cup in Frankfurt, Germany, October 12-14.

In addition to competition, students will have the opportunity to interview for jobs and internships during a two-day Career Opportunity Fair with representative from many companies.
Dr. Chi Archibong serves as advisor for the SIFE Team. She has been named a Sam Walton Free Enterprise Fellow in recognition of her leadership and

support of the SIFE program and A&T.
