GREENSBORO - North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University has been approved for a chapter of the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi. N.C. A&T is the second HBCU in the nation and the first in North Carolina to have a chapter.

Founded in 1897, Phi Kappa Phi is the oldest, most selective, most prestigious, and wealthiest all-discipline honor society in the United States. The honor society awards over $500,000 annually in scholarships and fellowships. It awards over $100,000 per triennium to chapters for special projects and funds national and regional awards for outstanding scholars and artists.

Dr. Peter V. Meyers, director of A&T’s Honors Program, coordinated the university’s chapter establishment.
