New Student Orientation and Move In Updates

New Students, Parents & Family Members,

We’re pleased to confirm that despite the cold weather, New Student Orientation will go forward as scheduled on Friday, Jan. 5th at North Carolina A&T State University. Likewise, residence halls will be open for continuing and new students to move in. There are a few time changes, however:

New Student Orientation: Check-in has been delayed to accommodate students and families commuting from areas with challenging road conditions. Rather than beginning at 7 a.m., check-in will now run from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. in the Academic Classroom Building, 1602 Bluford Street.

Moving In: New students will be able to move in to campus residence halls beginning at 3 p.m. on Friday and concluding at midnight. Move in for new and continuing students will continue on Saturday and Sunday, from 8 a.m. to midnight on both days.

Greensboro experienced a light dusting of snow Wednesday night, but weather forecasters do not expect any more today or through the weekend. Those traveling in for orientation, residence hall move-in or both should allot extra time, in case road conditions are challenging for your commute or in outlying areas around Greensboro. The National Weather Service says travel may be hazardous in some areas due to black ice and snow on roadways.

For those of you moving in to one of our residence halls or assisting a student with his or her move, please bundle up! Wind chill conditions from zero to 8 degrees Fahrenheit are expected today through Saturday morning.
